1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Spearfish, SD, requiring an SD or Compact RN license, L&D experience, and NRP certification for 12-hour night shifts. Details 8-bed Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting Patient population includes L&D, postpartum, antepartum, newborns, and infants under 28 days old Level 2A Nursery — nurses will care for sick babies Gyn-surgical and mastectomy post-op patients may be assigned; experience preferred but other staff may assist if candidate is not comfortable Patient ratios: 1:2 for laboring patients and 1:3-4 for couplets Centralized fetal monitoring in use Charting system: Epic 12-hour night shifts Every other weekend rotation required Low-census (LOC) call and LOC rotation required Three holidays scheduled and one on-call holiday per rotating schedule Floating may be required to Med/Surg in a CNA-level or helping hands capacity Contract options available for 36 or 48 hours per week Requirements Active SD RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP L&D-specific nursing experience required; candidates with only 1 year of total experience must have that experience specifically in L&D Strong EFM interpretation and intervention skills required Adult and neonatal assessment skills required Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility Two professional references dated within the past year required for consideration DOB and SSN required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply provided they have L&D experience Former permanent staff must wait a full year before returning in a travel capacity Orientation is typically one week, adjusted based on traveler experience Unit support includes a 24/7 lab, a charge nurse covering all hospital units, respiratory therapy available facility-wide, a hospitalist in-house for Med/Surg, and a nursery located directly behind the nurses' station Hospital-provided scrubs Free parking available on-site RTO requests must be submitted before the next schedule is posted; two 'gold tickets' per year available for time-off requests
