The School Nurse provides health services to students and staff during the school day, supports a safe and healthy school environment, assists with required health records and screenings, administers medications and treatments as authorized, and responds to illness, injury, and health-related emergencies. The person in this position must work within the legal scope of practice for an LPN or RN in Tennessee, follow district policies and procedures, and maintain confidentiality of student health and education records in accordance with applicable state and federal law, including FERPA, Section 504, IDEA, ADA, and Tennessee school health requirements.
