Job Summary:
Abilene Surgery Center is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for our ambulatory surgery center. At Abilene Surgery Center we specialize in vitreoretinal surgery.

//www.asc.surgery/ Job Requirements Practices with ethical and legal guidelines Can recognize and select supplies and equipment for surgeon and identify patient's needs Be familiar with and able to demonstrate proper use and functioning of all equipment used during procedures performed at this facility Must ensure proper functioning of equipment prior to surgery Prepares the suite for surgery while adhering to electrical safety policies and procedures, and fire and safety policies and procedures Will maintain a safe physical environment for the patient; maintains patient safety by acting as patient advocate Follows proper reporting policies and procedures for any abnormal findings Demonstrates knowledge of and implements peri-operative policies (e.g., surgery time out, use of two patient identifiers, control of environment, etc.) Knowledgeable of all required pre-operative documentation and assures completion of such Demonstrates, assists with, and understands importance of patient safety regarding positioning during procedure. Administers medications and solutions as prescribed and clearly communicates administration during the operative procedure Is prepared for and can demonstrate ability to respond to potential emergent situations Identifies, reports and documents adverse drug reactions Verbalizes understanding of the importance of miss and near miss medication errors Recognizes and assists patients and families with additional educational needs Attends annual
BCLS/ACLS/PALS
courses, OSHA training, HIPAA training and all other required in-services Must be able to adhere to and practice consistent with patient and staff rights and responsibilities Will address every patient with respect and dignity, at all times Must refer to and implement all aspects of the Infection Control Policy Understands and can demonstrate Standard Precautions, use of personal protective equipment, proper hand hygiene and blood borne pathogen, policy Report to CNO or attending physician of any abnormal findings or concern related to patient safety Performs daily checks as required per policy and procedure Check incoming medication & stock according to pharmacy guidelines Stocks Supplies as necessary Must implement all aspects of P&P Must follow Employee Handbook Perform other duties as assigned Days/Hours Monday-Thursday/ hours may vary based on surgery schedule Education/Certifications Graduate from an approved School of Nursing Certifications Texas State License, RN
CPR ACLS/PALS
will be provided Experience Surgical Experience Preferred but not Required New Graduates are welcomed!
