Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical care to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions. Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures such as IV insertions, catheter care, phlebotomy, and suturing to prevent infections. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and case management for optimal recovery. Maintain detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and institutional standards. Operate medical equipment including ventilators, infusion pumps, and diagnostic tools such as laboratory analyzers and sonography devices. Provide patient education on health coaching, medication administration, pain management strategies, and post-acute care instructions. Ensure infection control practices are rigorously followed within all clinical settings including ICU, emergency room, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities. Requirements Valid RN license in the state of practice with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Proven experience in medical-surgical units within hospital settings or equivalent acute care environments. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and patient data management. Knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards for accurate medical records coding and billing processes. Demonstrated proficiency in performing invasive procedures including IV infusion, catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, HIPAA compliance, trauma medicine principles (Level I & II trauma centers), and critical care practices. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency rooms or ICU units while maintaining compassionate patient-centered care. Pay:

$27.50 - $40.00 per hour
