Position Summary This is a Part-Time Nursing Faculty Pool in areas of (Medical / Surgical, Maternity, Mental Health, and Simulation) for available assignments during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the academic year and reviewed based on departmental needs. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Provide instruction and supervision in clinical and on-campus laboratory settings as assigned. Evaluate student clinical performance and provide timely feedback, counseling, and academic support. Select and coordinate appropriate clinical learning experiences and activities. Maintain effective relationships with assigned clinical agencies and evaluate clinical sites each semester. Communicate regularly with the Program Director, Course Coordinator, and clinical staff regarding student performance and clinical activities. Maintain current clinical expertise, instructional knowledge, and effective teaching practices. Prepare and utilize approved course materials, assessments, and instructional resources. Maintain accurate student records and submit required reports and documentation. Support curriculum assessment, program improvement, student recruitment, and retention initiatives. Participate in professional development, institutional meetings, and departmental activities. Adhere to College and program policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university with at least six (6) graduate semester hours in nursing content appropriate to specific teaching responsibility Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas Up-to-date immunizations and annual TB screening Must pass a random drug screen and criminal background check Current American Heart Association CPR Health Care Provider certification AND Three (3) years of non-teaching work experience in the field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual English/Spanish Master's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university At least one year of teaching experience at the college or university level. Must be familiar with interactive teaching methods and instruction via the Internet AND Three (3) years of non-teaching work experience in the field
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, as well as intermediate computer skills.
  • Must be familiar with interactive teaching methods and instruction via the Internet.
  • Working knowledge of Blackboard course management system
