Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The RN Robotic Surgery Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the robotic surgical service, and providing functional direction to members of the robotic surgery team to achieve optimal patient outcomes while optimizing available resources.

The RN Robotic Surgery Coordinator offers hands on support and mentoring for all robotic procedures (Bariatric, Colon, Hernia, Urology, Gynecological and all other robotic general procedures). The RN Robotic Surgery Coordinator will assist in orientation, onboarding, and training of new employees. The Robotic RN Clinical Coordinator will work with the Robotic Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Specialist by verifying that surgeon preference cards are up to date and corrected as needed. Essential Job Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Applies knowledge of specialized robotic instruments, equipment and supplies related to robotic surgery utilized in the Surgical Suite. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions with knowledge of robotic technology. Knows specialty robotic instruments and disposables and how they should be stored and utilized for various robotic procedures. Maintains robotic instrument/accessory inventory and communicates with Materials Management when there are ordering needs. Assumes responsibility for the efficient management of surgical cases. Collaborates with Surgical Department Leaders to support cases and develop/maintain robotic surgery teams. Determines appropriate priorities for work activities based on work demand by maintaining communication to ensure any problems during procedures are promptly escalated. Meets regularly with Robotic clinical team leads to discuss clinical level events/needs/updates. Participates in a department rotational call system as needed to provide continuous availability of patient services for all surgical procedures, including robotic procedures. Maintains own proficiency in performing position responsibilities through in-services, mandated safety programs, seminars, and other self-directed learning activities. Assists in a training and orientation for all new hires and current staff being training to work in robotic surgical cases via online modules, hands-on in-services and case observation. Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program Completion of Intuitive da Vinci Training course 2-3 years related surgical robotic experience Required License/Certifications Current RN license in the State of Texas ACLS Certification BLS certification Unit specific competencies obtained within six months of hire
