Job Description

Provide nursing care in a state facility as a travel RN, supporting patients—including youth and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—in a 26‑week assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in long‑term care settings, including youth and individuals with IDD. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress notes. Execute safety protocols and ensure compliance with all facility policies and healthcare regulations. Assist in patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while providing education and support to patients and their families.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program Valid RN license for Texas, CPR certification, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 6 months of RN experience, preferably with IDD experience Ability to float to all units including youth age 16‑18 and previously incarcerated individuals, strong communication skills, adaptability to various clinical settings
