Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Cardiac Catheterization Registered Nurse to join our dynamic cardiovascular team. This specialized nursing role requires a professional with extensive experience in cardiac catheterization procedures, critical care, and advanced patient assessment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing complex cardiac cases, utilizing advanced EMR/EHR systems, and providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. As a Travel Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple healthcare settings, delivering vital support and ensuring optimal outcomes for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures, including pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure recovery. Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and physiological parameters using advanced telemetry and monitoring equipment. Administer medications such as sedatives, contrast agents, and other intravenous therapies with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Assist physicians during invasive procedures by maintaining sterile technique and ensuring proper instrument handling. Educate patients and their families about procedure expectations, post-procedure care, and lifestyle modifications for cardiac health. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, radiologists, and critical care staff to coordinate seamless patient care. Maintain proficiency in aseptic techniques, IV insertion, suturing, and catheter care to uphold the highest standards of infection control. Support emergency response efforts by applying critical care skills in trauma or acute pain scenarios within a Level I or Level II trauma center environment. Stay current on advancements in cardiac catheterization technology, ICD coding practices, and relevant medical terminology to enhance clinical practice. Experience Proven experience working as a registered nurse within cardiac catheterization laboratories or interventional cardiology units. Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine settings is highly desirable for managing complex patient needs. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation and patient record management. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring long-term or hospice care. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and laboratory specimen collection/processing procedures. Previous travel nursing assignments in hospital medicine or acute care environments are preferred but not mandatory. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is highly recommended.
