REGISTERED NURSE - MED/SURGE (PRN)

Responsibilities RN/LVN:

Assists the professional nursing staff in providing positive patient outcomes through direct patient care. Under supervision, gives direct and indirect patient care as assigned. Documents patients' history and identifies patient needs with charge nurse assistance. Coordinates patients care to ensure all services are provided in a timely manner.

Nurse Tech:

Assists in providing quality patient care, inputs information electronically into the patient records, and maintains a clean environment under the supervision of nursing staff members. Provides clerical support for the unit.

Qualifications or Skills Required LVN/RN:

Graduate of an accredited School of Vocational Nursing. Current LVN or RN license with the State of Texas. One year as an LVN or RN preferred. Current CPR certification, ACLS and TNCC preferred. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to stand and/or walk for moderate periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting may be required in the event a patient becomes weak or helpless.

1 year of patient care experience or 1 semester completed of accredited RN program for NT. BLS required. Current CPR certification. Must be able to stand and/or walk for moderate periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting may be required when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
