Responsibilities Responsible for preparing and administering IV medications and therapies, following established protocols and guidelines. This includes calculating dosages, selecting appropriate IV sites, and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of treatments. Closely monitor patients during infusion therapy, assess vital signs, observing for any adverse reactions, and promptly intervening if necessary. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all aspects of patient care, including patient history and allergies, medication administration, vital signs, and any interventions or observations made during the infusion process. Provide education to patients on the purpose of the infusion therapy, potential side effects, and after care to promote optimal health and well-being. Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and standards, ensuring a safe environment for infusion. This includes maintaining proper documentation of patient history and patient assessments, infection control practices, monitoring equipment for functionality, and promptly addressing any safety concerns. Qualifications Valid Texas RN License BLS Certified Possess strong critical thinking skills to assess patient needs, identify potential complications, and develop appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes. Have excellent communication skills to interact with patient, their families, and other members of our healthcare team. This includes the ability to explain medical information in a clear and understanding manner. Attention to detail is crucial to ensure accurate medication administration, proper documentation, and the ability to identify potential complications or errors. Have a comprehensive understanding of various infusion therapy techniques, including IV catheter insertion, medication compatibility, and infusion set operations. Possess excellent clinical skills, including the ability to assess and interpret patient data and respond appropriately to changes in the patient's condition.
