Job Description

Description Position Summary:
The Scrub Nurse / Scrub Tech is responsible for providing intraoperative support by maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments, and assisting the surgical team during operative procedures. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the operating room runs efficiently and safely, contributing directly to positive patient outcomes.
Requirements Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or Nursing program (for Scrub Nurse).
Licensure/Certification:
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred for Scrub Techs. Current RN license in the State of Texas (or compact state) required for Scrub Nurses. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. CNOR certification (for RNs) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) credential a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience in a surgical or sterile environment preferred. Familiarity with a wide range of surgical procedures and instrument handling is highly desirable. New graduates will be considered with appropriate clinical training and demonstrated aptitude.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move patients or equipment as needed. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including on-call shifts, weekends, and holidays.
