What they do
A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

- Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132
- Work hours:
- Full Time 7P-7A- Rotating Weekends and Holidays
- Department highlights:

- Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
- Patients are admitted to the Med surg Tele (36 bed) unit for inpatient and observation surgical, gyn, gastro, ortho, spine, urology, infectious disease and general medicine with remote tele
- Med/surg Tele Department is known for its positive culture, great preceptors, teamwork, and exceptional customer service!
- Here's What You Need
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
- BLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
- CPI training within 90 days of hire (required)
- ACLS within 90 days of hire (required)
- 1 year RN experience required in acute care setting or completion of an RN residency program required
- Strong Med/surg RN experience in acute care setting preferred
- What You Will Do
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers. Additional perks of being a Texas Health Nurse
