Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Cardiology team in Longview, TX for night shift coverage . This role focuses on providing high-quality overnight care to hospitalized cardiology patients in collaboration with on-call cardiologists and hospital teams. The ideal candidate will have strong acute care or inpatient cardiology experience and be comfortable managing patients independently during night hours. Key Responsibilities Provide overnight coverage for inpatient cardiology service Perform patient assessments, admissions, and cross-cover as needed Manage acute cardiac conditions and respond to clinical changes Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests including EKGs, labs, and imaging Collaborate with cardiologists, hospitalists, nursing staff, and ICU teams Communicate effectively during handoffs and transitions of care Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR Qualifications Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant National board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA) Acute care or inpatient cardiology experience preferred Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently overnight Excellent communication and teamwork skills
