38-year-old male
Condition:
C3-C4 quadriplegic
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide specialized care for a 38-year-old male with a C3-C4 quadriplegia. This is an overnight position in a well-maintained, non-smoking home in Longview, TX. The role requires a nurse who is not only skilled but also comfortable working independently during the night shift. Much different atmosphere than a hospital or nursing home. Primary Responsibilities:
Night and Morning Routines:
Assist with all aspects of personal care including but not limited to hygiene, repositioning, and comfort measures.
Tracheostomy Tube Care:
Provide routine tracheostomy care and monitoring to ensure the tube remains intact and free from complications.
Feeding Tube Management:
Administer protein supplement via the feeding tube, monitor for any signs of complications, and maintain cleanliness.
Ventilator Management:
Monitor and manage the ventilator settings in conjunction with a respiratory therapist. Ensure the equipment is functioning properly and address any issues that arise.
Wound Care:
Perform wound care as instructed by the clinic, including routine assessments and dressing changes.
Additional Requirements:
Experience:
Previous experience with ventilator care, tracheostomy management, and feeding tubes is highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Certifications:
Current LVN license required; additional certifications related to respiratory care and wound management are a plus.
