Job Description

Description Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Unit is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients admitted to the inpatient unit. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and positive clinical outcomes. Responsibilities Assess, monitor, and document patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial conditions. Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition to the appropriate provider. Coordinate patient care with physicians, specialists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards. Respond effectively to emergencies and participate in rapid response and code situations as needed. Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. Serve as a patient advocate and promote a positive patient experience. Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and continuing education activities. Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred. Minimum of two (2) year of inpatient nursing experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The position is performed in an inpatient healthcare setting and may involve exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, and other healthcare-related hazards. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and required.
