Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Private Duty Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pediatrics! In this vital role, you will provide personalized, compassionate nursing care to children with complex medical needs in their home or community setting. Your expertise will help ensure safe, effective, and family-centered care, empowering young patients to thrive and achieve their best quality of life. Duties Deliver comprehensive nursing assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed patient evaluations tailored to pediatric needs Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and manage tube feedings with precision and adherence to safety protocols Operate and monitor medical equipment such as ventilators, oxygen therapy devices, and infusion pumps to support patient stability Implement individualized care plans based on physician orders, family input, and current best practices in pediatric health management Educate families on medication administration, disease management, developmental milestones, and emergency procedures to promote confident home care Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, social workers, and caregivers to coordinate holistic patient care Requirements Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with current pediatric nursing experience preferred Demonstrated expertise in pediatric care including neonatal ventilator management, medication administration, and aseptic technique Experience working with children with developmental disabilities or chronic health conditions such as cardiac issues or infectious diseases Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and patient tracking Critical care experience including ICU or PICU settings is highly desirable; hospital or emergency room experience is a plus Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-10), and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to pediatrics Ability to perform complex procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, catheterization (including urinary and central lines), and specimen collection Strong communication skills for effective triage assessments and family education; compassionate approach working with children and their families Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, or on-call hours as needed for patient care continuity Join us in delivering exceptional pediatric nursing care that transforms lives!
