- + Assist with newborn care at deliveries, providing immediate care and support to newborns during and after delivery.
+ Maintain skills in neonatal resuscitation to respond effectively in emergencies.
+ Demonstrate assessment skills in high and low-risk obstetrical patients to identify potential risks and health issues.
+ Identify and report maternal and newborn problems to the physician promptly.
+ Assist with the transfer of newborns to other facilities when indicated, ensuring safe and efficient transfers.
+ Accurately identify and band newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups. Document all care activities accurately, including band identification numbers in medical records.
- Education:
- + Associate's of Nursing [Required] + Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
- Work Experience:
- + 1+ OB ED, labor and delivery or postpartum nursing experience [Preferred]
- Licenses and Certifications:
- + Basic Life Support
- CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] + Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Required] + Registered Nurse (RN) [Required] + Neonatal Med Certification (NEONATAL MED) [Preferred]
