1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and charge experience. Details Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting with 200-300 births per month Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Rotates through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition (no post-partum) Cerner charting system experience preferred Some holiday coverage expected Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required Required certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP
Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required Previous charge nurse experience required Must be able to circulate and transition babies as well as labor patients Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, venous blood draws, and IV/infusion pump management Pending license accepted for consideration but must be active before start date Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration Additional Information Duties include assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and neonatal care in the delivery room Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement Familiarity with high-risk antepartum care, magnesium sulfate therapy, and pitocin administration Onsite drug screening required upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted RTO must be submitted with candidate profile First-time travelers considered as long as they meet the required experience
