Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic PRN (pro re nata, or as-needed) 3rd shift nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during the overnight shift, including assessments, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Perform detailed patient evaluations and document findings accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Manage acute pain and provide emergency response procedures in trauma or critical care situations, utilizing Level I and Level II trauma center experience if applicable. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and long-term care needs while adhering to NCQA standards and HIPAA regulations. Conduct triage assessments over the phone or in person to prioritize urgent patient needs effectively. Support specialized care areas such as memory care, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, or geriatrics based on experience. Qualifications Valid nursing license with current state licensure required. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays preferred. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), medical terminology, and documentation standards. Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and compassion during acute events such as airway management or ventilator support. Excellent assessment skills with a focus on patient safety and comfort during overnight hours.
