Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Staff Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive patient care across various medical settings, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. Your expertise will support a wide range of specialties including critical care, emergency medicine, outpatient clinics, and long-term care environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering high-quality nursing services, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and utilizing advanced clinical skills to make a positive impact on patients' lives. Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed health histories to inform individualized care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document patient information meticulously and ensure seamless communication across healthcare teams. Manage complex clinical procedures including IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management with aseptic technique. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing and interpret diagnostic imaging results like sonography or mammography when applicable. Provide specialized care for diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia, hospice & palliative medicine patients, and those in memory or behavioral health programs. Lead triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room settings to prioritize patient needs efficiently while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control standards. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in acute pain management, trauma medicine (Level I & II trauma centers), cardiac catheterization procedures, and infectious disease care. Support discharge planning and case management efforts to ensure smooth transitions from hospital to home or long-term care facilities. Requirements Valid RN license in good standing with current state registration. Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, ICU/CCU (Critical Care Units), emergency medicine, outpatient clinics, or long-term care facilities like nursing homes or assisted living communities. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation. Strong clinical skills including IV insertion/infusion, phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, airway management, and sterile processing techniques. Knowledge of advanced nursing practices such as acute pain management, trauma medicine (Level I & II trauma centers), infectious disease protocols, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures, and OSHA infection control standards. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs in settings like memory care or behavioral health programs is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care centers while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety. Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient-centered care across diverse populations including pediatric through geriatric patients.
