Glen Allen offers a mix of historic charm, picturesque parks, and inviting neighborhoods—ideal for exploration between shifts. As part of this 24-bed stepdown unit specializing in cardiac, surgical, renal, and advanced respiratory patients, you will work alongside an interdisciplinary team renowned for their commitment to patient-centered care. Exposure to diverse workplace practices and leadership styles will sharpen your skillset and broaden your professional perspective, preparing you for future leadership roles or advanced specializations.
Schedule/Hours:
Day shifts Every other weekend and major holidays coverage required
Key Qualifications:
Active RN license (Compact eligible) Minimum 1 year of RN experience; acute care experience preferred Required certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Proficiency with cardiac drips/titrations, BiPAP, insulin drips, and EKG interpretation (must pass EKG exam at orientation) Experience with lab draws Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills Ability to manage complex, multi-system patient cases
Primary Responsibilities:
Comprehensive patient assessments and care planning Administering medications and monitoring patients using advanced technology (Alaris pumps, bedside cardiac monitors, GlucoStabilizer, BiPAP) Coordinating care and patient/family education Acting as advocate for patient safety and quality care Adapting quickly in high-acuity, fast-changing clinical situations
