Job Description

This travel nursing assignment offers not only professional growth and leadership exposure in a high-acuity emergency setting, but also the chance to explore the unique neighborhoods, museums, and parks of this dynamic region during your off-hours. This travel role in a freestanding community emergency department is designed for experienced Emergency Room RNs seeking to broaden their skillset in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. Engage with a diverse patient population—ranging from geriatrics to pediatrics—and gain critical experience with stroke, STEMI, sepsis patients, and more. Every shift offers insight into varied leadership styles, modern clinical practices, and team-based problem-solving, equipping you with expertise that enhances your resume for future opportunities.
Schedule:
12-hour night shifts No on-call requirement Every other weekend and major holiday coverage required
Desired Qualifications:
Compact or state RN license (current) Minimum 2 years ER experience or 1 year in a freestanding ED (previous travel required) Critical care and conscious sedation experience Must pass EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided) BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, NRP, CPI/De-escalation training (required or must obtain) Strong skills in ventilator management, team triage, and medication compounding
EPIC EHR
familiarity preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Initial and ongoing assessments, care planning, and coordination in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team Rapid response to a spectrum of presentations: cardiac, trauma, behavioral health, pediatric, and geriatric emergencies Medication administration, evidence-based interventions, and emergency procedures Patient and family education, support, and advocacy Active contribution to departmental quality improvement initiatives
