Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Take on a rewarding contract opportunity providing caring support to a high school student as a dedicated nurse in a school setting. Located near Williamsburg, VA, this role is ideal for a compassionate and skilled RN or LPN/LVN seeking a meaningful impact. You will work 1:1 with a medically fragile student, ensuring their well-being throughout the school day—including bus transportation to and from school.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active RN or LPN/LVN license in the state of Virginia Previous experience in a school, pediatric, or similar setting preferred Proven ability to manage care for medically fragile students, including trach and ventilator support Confidence working autonomously outside the main school nurse's supervision Strong communication skills for collaboration with families, educators, and medical professionals Willingness and ability to accompany the student on the school bus daily
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized nursing care to one high school student with complex medical needs Administer prescribed medications, monitor vital signs, and provide trach and ventilator management Remain attentive and responsive to changes in the student's condition throughout the school day Foster a safe, nurturing environment and recognize changes requiring medical intervention Maintain accurate documentation of care, interventions, and communication with stakeholders Adhere to all school health policies and procedures while working independently You will be part of a supportive contract arrangement, focused on making a positive difference in a student's daily life and educational journey.
