Job Description
The University of Vermont Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. In this fast-paced, academic setting, you will provide triage, direct patient care, and education for diverse emergency cases, using evidence-based practices and advanced technology. Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to stabilize patients, coordinate treatments, and ensure safe transitions of care. Responsibilities Perform rapid triage and comprehensive nursing assessments for ED patients. Deliver evidence-based emergency care, including medication administration and IV therapy. Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient response to interventions. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans. Provide patient and family education, support, and discharge instructions in crisis situations. Document all care accurately in the electronic health record. Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and quality standards in a high-acuity environment. Participate in continuous learning, skills development, and quality improvement initiatives.
