Job Description
The Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking a full-time 100% FTE School Nurse assigned to Sutton School with opportunities for additional KESD assignments, specializing in practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and lifelong achievement of students. School nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy, and learning. School nurses plan and prepare the schools health related instruction and programming, create an environment of health and wellness, deliver nursing services and health and wellness classroom instruction. The school nurse provides school health services to students in order to integrate health and wellness knowledge and skills throughout the school and curriculum based on knowledge of pediatric, community health, emergency, and mental health nursing. The pay range for this position is $46,267-$89,467. School nursing is an independent specialty practice, as described in Vermont Agency of Education The Standards of School Nursing Practice. Background check, including fingerprinting required upon employment. Kingdom East School District is located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have choice and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing.

Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities.
