Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION
Assists in administering the Center's Health and Wellness Services Program.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Health and Wellness Services program in accordance with DOL guidelines, federal, state and city laws and regulations.
- Oversees scheduling of sick call, infirmary coverage, and environmental health, physical and dental exams in accordance with DOL guidelines.
- Inspects the food service facility and dormitories regularly.
- Assist with the management of medical records and the Health Management Information System.
- Develops and maintains an inventory control system for medication, equipment and medical supplies.
- Conducts inventories of supplies and medications monthly.
- Communicates with parents, legal guardians and other personnel regarding students' health and well-being.
- Purchases medication and medical supplies.
- Participates in nurses' on-call rotation.
- Functions as staff nurse as needed.
- Collects data and maintains wellness monthly Utilization Report.
- Plans, organizes and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to insure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures.
- Models appropriate behaviors, mentors students and monitors both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Ensures the proper storage, handling and disposal of hazardous wastes generated by the health and wellness center
- Other duties as assigned
