Job Description:
Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members. Nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital, Nursing Department and regulatory standards. Responsible for care of patients in the operating room. Provides for patient care as a circulating and/or scrub nurse and teacher to ensure safe and therapeutically effective nursing care. Maintains the work area. Participates in 24-hour call coverage. Uses skills in nursing assessment to include recognizing post-anesthesia and post-operative complications.
