DescriptionPosition Summary The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) serves as a primary psychiatric and medical provider for residents detained under 90-day and 180-day involuntary civil commitment orders (RCW 71.05). The ARNP conducts psychiatric evaluations, develops and manages treatment and medication plans, and provides clinical leadership to the interdisciplinary team, qualifying as a "mental health professional" under

WAC 246-341-0515.

This is a full-time position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and medical evaluations for residents admitted under 90-day and 180-day civil commitment orders. Diagnose, prescribe, and manage psychotropic and other medications within scope of practice and any applicable collaborative practice or protocol agreement. Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with nursing, case management, and direct-care staff. Provide clinical documentation and, as clinically appropriate, testimony or written input to support probable cause hearings, commitment petitions, and court-related proceedings under

RCW 71.05.

Provide on-call psychiatric and medical coverage for the facility, including after-hours consultation for urgent clinical needs. Supervise and provide clinical direction to RN, LPN, and Mental Health Technician staff regarding resident care within scope of authority. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, discharge planning, and quality improvement activities. Ensure documentation and prescribing practices comply with

WAC 246-341, RCW

71.05, and DOH behavioral health agency standards. Conduct and document comprehensive face-to-face psychiatric and medical assessments within twenty-four (24) hours of a resident's admission. Review and sign all emergency verbal or telephonic medical orders within seventy-two (72) hours of issuance. Conduct immediate face-to-face clinical evaluations of residents presenting in acute physical or psychiatric distress, authorizing medical transfers as clinically indicated. Participate in a coordinated on-call rotation with the facility's other psychiatric providers to help ensure prescriber availability twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. Minimum Qualifications — Education and Experience Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (Psychiatric-Mental Health, Family, or Adult-Gerontology focus) from an accredited program. Minimum two years of clinical experience in psychiatric or behavioral health care strongly preferred. Required Licenses and Certifications Current, unencumbered Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license issued by the Washington State Department of Health / Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (NCQAC), with appropriate population focus. Current national certification through ANCC or AANP in the applicable population focus. Current Washington State prescriptive authority and controlled substance registration. Current DEA registration. Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred). Clearance of a Washington State Patrol (WSP) background check per chapter 43.43 RCW. Preferred Qualifications Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification. Experience providing care within an evaluation and treatment (E&T) facility, state hospital, or other secure civil commitment setting. Bilingual (Spanish or another language relevant to the served population) is a plus. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Primarily performed in a clinical office and treatment-unit setting within a secure facility; requires the ability to move throughout the facility to assess residents; may involve exposure to unpredictable or aggressive behavior; requires availability for on-call psychiatric coverage.

Pay:

$80.00 - $116.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
