1 Description American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring neurology experience, NIHSS proficiency, and a WA or compact RN license. Details Work in the Neuro Stepdown/Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital Cares for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses including CVA, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury Patient ratio of 1:4 Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00 Floating between units required Weekend work required every other weekend No on-call responsibilities Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale and care of post-surgical neurology patients Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting Full SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, teaching hospital setting Deliver comprehensive nursing care to complex neurology and telemetry patients May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; minimal RTO preferred to expedite the process Any color scrubs accepted for RN staff Former Providence facility employees may return as travelers after a 3-month wait, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate; radius requirement of 50 miles applies
