We are looking for a Dynamic Psychiatric Nurse to facilitate the clinical needs of our clients. This position is a day shift position working Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The shifts are 12 hour shifts. Full Time RN -$50.00 - $55.00 SUMMARY
OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Psychiatric Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing and addressing health needs of individual client and implementing a nursing plan of care and behavior plan in conjunction with other interdisciplinary team members. The licensed nurse on duty is responsible for clinical oversight while on shift.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
DIRECTPATIENT CARE
Implements the resident's person-center service and behavioral plans. Assesses the condition of each resident and conducts routine screening functions. Measures basic physiological functioning and reports significant findings (e.g. vital signs, fluid intake and output). Supports and promotes nutritional status (e.g. dietary regiments, supplemental therapy, etc.). Evaluates resident complaints of specific ailments. Intervenes with proper technique, procedures, and safety precautions to meet individual needs. Consults with physician(s) as indicated regarding treatments, referrals to other disciplines and as the individual's status indicates. Makes recommendations for service plan changes as needed. Participate in service plan meetings as needed. Reviews all physician orders and lab results. Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory and diagnostic data and identifies abnormal findings. Assist with performing and documenting other evaluations/assessments as needed. Monitors and dispense medications based upon instructions from physicians. Documents all communication with a physician in nursing notes. Documents accurately and promptly all nursing care provided. Utilizes all available resources in planning care and consults as necessary with interdisciplinary team members. Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to implement emergency procedures, such as C.P.R. in the event of cardiopulmonary arrest. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control policies and procedures. ∙ Provides for the disposal of controlled substances.STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Provides direct supervision to CPC's during the assigned shift. Creates a teaching and mentoring environment for all clinical staff. Quality Assurance Performs audits as needed and assists with problems solving and implementation of action plans to improve care and services to residents.COMMUNICATION
Participates in staff meetings and in-services training. Consults with MHP, Management or peers when knowledge base in a given area needs to be expanded. Requests literature, in-service or orientation on a given topic. Reads communication log in ECP. Demonstrates accountability regarding equipment and supplies. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION andLICENSURE
RN with a current Washington State licensure. 3 yearsClinical experience, preferably in behavioral health environment. Valid Washington State Driver's License required or the equivalent if residence in Washington is new. Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software. Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, clinical information, nursing laws and union contracts. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors. Proficient in English.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
