Job Description

Skyline Health has an opening for ED RN. This is a full-time night position, 36 hours.
EDUCATION BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate form an accredited Nursing Program. Current license to practice in the State of Washington. Knowledge of modern nursing principles, techniques and procedures. Emergency Department experience preferred minimum 2 yrs. experience required. Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
(but not limited to) 1. Shall be accountable for all nursing care delivered or assigned. 2. Demonstrates competency in parenteral administration of medications, crystalloid fluids, blood and blood components. 3. Performs EKGs, respiratory therapy treatments and oxygen administration. Demonstrates safe and effective use of cardiac monitoring equipment, defibrillators, K pads, infusion pumps, pacemakers, acuity staffing system, pulse oximeters and dopplers. Monitors ventilators under supervision of Respiratory Therapy. 4. Recognizes psychological, social and spiritual needs of patients and their families and utilizes appropriate resources. 5. Appropriately identifies and prioritizes needs/problems, develops appropriate plan of nursing care, implements plan and evaluates patient outcome. 6. Demonstrates accurate and relevant documentation of patient care. 7. Administers appropriate and accurate dosages of medications as order by physician and according to patient's clinical condition and response. 8. Demonstrates competency during a code situation, following ACLS guidelines. 9. Demonstrates competency in venipuncture and maintenance of IV lines according to IV policy. 10. Operates dispatch units and radios. 11. Demonstrates proficiency in patient teaching. 12. Appropriately identifies and prioritizes needs/problems, develops appropriate plan of nursing care, implements plan and evaluates patient outcome. 13. Demonstrates accurate and relevant documentation of patient care. 14. Administers appropriate and accurate dosages of medications as ordered by physician and according to patient's clinical condition and response. 15. Demonstrates competency in caring for patients with invasive lines, tubes and/or drainage systems. 16. Assists in orientation of new staff as requested. 17. Demonstrates proficiency in Med/Surg, ICU, ER, Nursing Outpatient Procedures and all other nursing related tasks. 18. Assists in patient care as needed. 19. Verifies/adds charges of ED patients from the previous day(s). Communicates with the ED manager if unable to complete, or any concerns. 20. Follows and monitors compliance in hospital-wide policies and procedures. 21. Other duties as assigned.
