Job Description

SSM Health is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical unit in
JOB-CITY , JOB-STATE
. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based care to diverse adult patients, performing assessments, administering medications, coordinating interdisciplinary care, and educating patients and families. You will document accurately in the EHR, support safe transitions of care, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives. Responsibilities Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients across the care continuum Perform assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes Administer medications and treatments, monitor vital signs, and promptly respond to changes in patient condition Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families to coordinate care Document care accurately in the electronic health record and follow all regulatory and SSM Health policies Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge instructions, and ongoing self-care Support a healing environment that reflects SSM Health's Catholic mission, compassion, and respect for all Precept, mentor, and support peers and new staff to promote professional growth and teamwork Required Skills Patient assessment and clinical judgment Medication administration and IV therapy Medical-surgical nursing procedures and protocols Wound care and post-operative management Care planning and care coordination Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Patient and family education Infection prevention and control Vital signs and hemodynamic monitoring Interdisciplinary team collaboration
