Position:
Registered Nurse -
Individual Student Health Support Location:
District Wide Job Overview:
The Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing services to support the health, safety, and educational access of an assigned student with complex medical needs. The employee is assigned to the student's school building to ensure immediate availability to respond to the student's healthcare needs throughout the school day. During periods when direct nursing intervention or continuous medical monitoring is not required, the Nurse provides educational assistant support under the direction of licensed staff. Nursing responsibilities always take precedence over educational assistant responsibilities.
License and Certifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing. Certification in Tracheostomy Care - required upon hire if not previously certified Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred. Additional training or certifications related to student-specific medical needs as required.
