The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position is .6 FTE, with hours 1500-2330, Monday through Saturday, weekend and holiday rotation required. You will work in a team-oriented specialty hospital environment with low nurse/patient ratios. This role is an inpatient nursing position, caring for patients who have had total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and other elective orthopaedic procedures. Core Responsibilities Assesses patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients. Evaluates patient's response and intervenes appropriately for optimal outcome. Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate instructions to patient and family and appropriately answer questions. Appropriately adapts during rapidly changing pace and manages resources as needed to maintain patient flow. Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient, in collaboration with each patient, family, and significant other to address all identified needs. Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement the medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures necessary for the care of the patient. Evaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient's responses are reassessed in order meet patient and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, to ensure quality care. Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Pursues professional growth and development. Functions as a role model for current and new staff. Demonstrates leadership behaviors in a professional manner. Directs other licensed and non-licensed personnel in the provision of care to patients as assigned. Performs selected duties as delegated by the VP of Nursing or others in authority. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, hospital/service safety, and specific job-related hazards. Required:

Education Minimum :

Associates Degree in Nursing. Must possess a current (state) license as a Registered Nurse. One year of nursing experience is preferred.

Required Certifications :

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing
