Job Description
Registered Nurse - Critical Care at SSM Health will deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in our ICU. In this full-time, on-site role, you will perform comprehensive assessments, manage complex therapies, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes. You will support patients and families through education and advocacy, while upholding SSM Health's Catholic, mission-driven values of respect and service. Responsibilities Provide evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients in an ICU setting. Continuously assess, monitor, and document patient status, responding rapidly to changes in condition. Administer medications, infusions, and blood products, managing ventilators and hemodynamic drips per protocol. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans. Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and ongoing care needs with compassion and clarity. Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards. Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and shared governance activities. Precept and mentor new nurses and support staff as needed.
