As a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), you'll provide specialized nursing care to patients who require closer monitoring and more complex care than a traditional medical-surgical setting, while working as part of a collaborative, supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who enjoy caring for higher-acuity patients, developing their clinical judgment, and working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team. What You'll Do Provide safe, individualized nursing care to patients with complex and changing healthcare needs. Perform comprehensive assessments and continuously monitor patients for changes in condition. Recognize changes in patient status and initiate appropriate interventions or escalation of care. Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and other interventions safely and according to established standards. Monitor patients requiring increased observation and specialized care. Collaborate closely with physicians and members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and ongoing care. Respond appropriately to urgent and emergent patient situations. Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans. Promote patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Support the orientation and development of new staff and nursing students as appropriate. What We're Looking For Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). Current RN license or eligibility to practice in Wisconsin. Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
