-Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) Join the Intermediate Care Unit where critical care skills meet collaborative nursing Supplemental Tier 1 (.1 FTE), 288 hours per calendar year, minimum of 3 weekend shifts per year, one major holiday per year Compassion. The Registered Nurse is a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence-based practice. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data.
Experience/Qualifications:
Associate degree in nursing required. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. Certification in specialty desired. Ideally, there is a minimum of three years practicing as an RN in comparative setting. Possesses an active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN nursing license. Maintains specialty certification as per department scope of service. Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy). Current Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification may be required based on primary department.
Unit Description:
Our IMC Unit has 38-beds, is a fast-paced critical care step-down environment designed for nurses who want to use the full scope of their clinical skills. Our IMC team provides high-acuity care while maintaining a supportive and collaborative atmosphere that values teamwork, learning, and professional growth. Our unit specializes in caring for critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing care, including: Tracheostomy and ventilator patients Alcohol and substance withdrawal management Traumatic brain injuries Respiratory failure Post-operative patients requiring higher-level monitoring Chest tube management Enteral feeds and TPN Complex wound care Working in IMC means no two days are the same. Nurses care for a wide variety of diagnoses while strengthening critical thinking, assessment skills, and advanced nursing interventions.
