1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position at a small critical access hospital, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and travel nursing background. Details Emergency Department with 9 ED beds in a critical access hospital setting General ED serving combined adult/pediatric population Patient ratio of 1:4 Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:00 Weekday schedule with every other weekend required No call, charge, or float requirements Holiday coverage required Blocked schedule requests may be considered if requested at time of profile submittal Requirements Active WV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted) Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS (BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be through AHA) CPI, MAB, NRP, and TNCC certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Small ED work history preferred Cerner EMR experience preferred Skills required: IV starts, triage, and emergency trauma care Extensive ED skill set including pediatric emergencies, psychiatric crises, respiratory management, neurological trauma, cardiac monitoring, and orthopedic trauma care Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required Additional Information Provide comprehensive emergency care across pediatric and adult populations including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic cases Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, chest tube insertion, and ABG interpretation Administer emergency medications including IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKGs Burgundy scrub color required First time travelers are not accepted for this position Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler Current employees of Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this position Cerner charting system training modules required prior to start date, averaging 8 hours to complete
