The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers—the Kuskokwim and Yukon. Position Summary:
Entry of registration information for outpatient visits for all patient services that YKHC provides currently, primarily Community Health Aide Program and direct outpatient encounters. Accurate and timely performance of duties directly impacts revenue received by the corporation.
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Computer literacy required. Six months IBM or compatible computer system experience or college credits for MS Word. Alphabetical and numerical filing experience. Experience working with printer, photocopiers, fax machine, multi-line phone systems. Typing 45 w.p.m., 10-key by touch. Ability to speak Yup'ik preferable. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Accuracy and dependability a must. ] Interpersonal and communication skill required to interact with medical personnel on a routine basis. Require to meet monthly deadlines to ensure prompt reimbursement. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
