A Registrar or Patient Service Representative provides direct assistance to patients at a health care or long term care facility. Answers questions and helps resolve complaints; provides liaison with health care providers; may assist with coordinating appointments or addressing billing or insurance issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent Minimum of three (3) years' professional/secretarial experience Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups Word processing/computer experience with knowledge of MicroSoft Office, Excel, INow Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to proficiently use current technology to communicate, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports Ability to meet suitability criteria under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457 Such alternatives to the above qualifications as state, federal, and local law and the Board may require
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, mission, goals, and priorities Maintains professionalism when working with staff, students, parents, and others Types correspondence as directed Answers incoming calls and directs appropriately Processes incoming and outgoing mail Assists with copiers, school printers, and fax machines Inputs student information and maintains records in INow Enrolls, transfers, and withdraws students and collects proper documentation Updates and maintains the attendance records and reports in INow Creates reports based on school needs, including but not limited to grades, attendance, discipline, contact information, medical, group lists, and bus reports Verifies residency within school boundaries Creates schedules in INow if deemed necessary Retains students and runs year-end reports for school Maintains records of maintenance work orders Maintains confidentiality of all school related business Works with District to maintain consistency of student information Adheres to local Board policies, administrative procedures, and other like directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s) This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
