Job Description
Welcome to East Valley ER & Hospital! At East Valley ER & Hospital, we provide expert emergency care with shorter wait times and a strong dedication to patient well-being. Our modern facility features an on-site laboratory, advanced imaging technology, and comprehensive services for both adults and children. We are seeking a Patient Access Representative (PAR) to play a vital role in ensuring efficient operations within our emergency center. This position requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and a commitment to patient confidentiality and safety. The PAR helps create a welcoming and efficient environment, supporting patients through their care journey while maintaining the hospital's high standards.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent At least 1 year of experience as a Patient Access Representative in a hospital, ER, or clinic setting Experience in medical registration, admitting, and scheduling in an ER is preferred. Medical Assistant experience is a plus!Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Operations:
Greet patients and visitors warmly Determine patient needs and direct them appropriately Collect demographic information and obtain signatures for billing accuracy Manage logs and handle phone inquiries professionally Keep the reception area tidy and welcomingFinancial Duties:
Collect co-payments and balances via cash, checks, or credit cards Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile patient accounts dailyFacility Maintenance:
Assist with keeping patient areas and restrooms clean and orderlyCommunication:
Interact courteously with patients, families, physicians, and staff, reflecting the hospital's core valuesProfessional Growth:
Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in quality improvement activitiesAdditional Tasks:
Support management with various projects or responsibilities as neededOptional Duties:
Help stock patient care supplies Assist with patient restraint procedures and documentation Attend scheduled meetings as requiredRequired Skills & Competencies:
Proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures Dedicated to ongoing learning and professional developmentPhysical Requirements:
