POSITION SUMMARY
This position processes incoming and outgoing personal health information for optimal patient care. This position assists physicians, patients, referring physicians, and other staff members by maintaining updated records in the patient's electronic chart.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Diagnostic Testing Filing Duties Filing Duties Scans and files paper documents into the EHR including process specific to consents, Holter Diaries and Device Notifications. Sorts and disperses incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail (packs and empties inter-office bags) Processes Health Information requests after appropriate releases are obtained and files all paper requests into patient charts after they have been processed. Processes the Rosetta Holding Tank and the TCC electronic fax server. Works incoming tasks from providers. Release of Information Duties Faxes releases requesting records from other medical facilities. Electronically retrieves records, as needed, from various sites. Processes Health Information requests after appropriate releases are obtained by: Electronic and landline faxing, burning onto CD, mail, and patient pick-up. Processes payments for health information. Completes PHI Disclosure Log for all record transactions in the EHR per HIPAA regulations. Phone Duties Answer medical records queue calls.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications High school diploma or GED. 6 months of related experience and/or training.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Six months or more of Medical records experience preferred Eligibility All employees must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States.
