Job Description
Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Director of Admissions, it arranges for the efficient and orderly registration of all patients. Coordinates insurance and AHCCCS verification, benefits, and authorizations for all patients. Audits all registrations for data accuracy and acts as a resource to all areas of the medical center regarding insurance and registration. Responds to inquiries from physicians, insurance companies, patients, and government representatives, and reviews bills, charges, and related data for accuracy as assigned. Correctly identifies patient demographics, processes data entry, provides excellent customer service, and performs various clerical duties. Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to type with acceptable speed and accuracy. Ability to operate microcomputer, 10- key calculator and other office equipment. Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form Understanding and complying with EMTALA, HIPAA, ABN's, MSP, insurance notification requirements, and medical terminology, and same financial counseling abilities Work requires exceptional interpersonal skills to interview and obtain information from patients and interact with other MRGMC personnel and outside personnel. Maintain a registration accuracy rate of 88% minimum or better Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Medical Staff, Answering Service Clientele, support personnel and the public required. An understanding of computer systems, process design and data management. Must have a well-groomed, professional appearance. Must have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job. Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds. Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency. Preferred Qualifications CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) Certification Previous Meditech experience or other related electronic records systems.
