Duties Manage patient intake processes, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks. Perform insurance verification and coordinate billing procedures, ensuring accurate medical collection and payment processing. Review and update medical records, ensuring documentation review aligns with HIPAA standards and EHR system requirements. Assist with coding procedures by applying
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes, and medical terminology to ensure precise medical billing and documentation. Operate multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; handle patient inquiries professionally while maintaining confidentiality. Support front desk operations by managing patient check-in/out, filing paperwork, and maintaining organized medical records using software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Collaborate with healthcare providers on care plans and documentation review to support quality patient care delivery. Maintain a clean, organized office environment while adhering to office management protocols and health information management standards. Skills Proven experience in a medical office setting with strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks. Expertise in medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, and Medicare processes. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and health information management best practices. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; strong typing (including 10-key) skills are essential. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Strong organizational skills with experience in clinic or dental office environments; familiarity with dental terminology and dental office software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus. Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette; ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting team collaboration in a fast-paced setting.
