- Overview
- We are seeking a detail-oriented Referral Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experinece in Internal Medicine, plus a strong background in medical terminology, insurance verification, and medical coding.
- Duties
- Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and diagnostic services
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations for referrals
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in handling patient information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Communicate effectively with medical providers, patients, and insurance companies
- Utilize
ICD-9, ICD-10
coding systems for accurate documentation- Collaborate with medical office staff to streamline referral processes
- Coordinate Prior Authorization with Provider/Pharmacy and Patients
- Not limited to other task
- Experience
- Proficiency in medical terminology and coding procedures
- Experience in insurance verification and authorization processes
- Familiarity with medical office operations and referral coordination
- Experience with Medication Prior Authorization
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Previous experience in Internal Medicine office setting is a plus
