ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position involves extensive contact with the community and interfaces closely with the Intake Director, Utilization Review staff, Behavioral Health Technicians, Business Office staff, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of communication. Responsible for inquiry calls, insurance verification, scheduling of evaluations and admissions, bed board monitoring, patient observations, patient admission process, patient belongings searches, and other non-clinical duties as assigned. Conducts screening of potential patient admissions and initiates an integrated assessment process. Provide community resources to people inappropriate or unavailable for admission but who require further guidance and referrals. Ensures that Patient Rights are upheld in compliance with all state and federal regulations. Manage the inquiry process professionally, timely, and with appropriate follow up.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Clerical office setting in a behavioral health/psychiatric hospital. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation, and foot traffic and be able to move from one task to another. Must be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinions. Able to address and prioritize multiple tasks within established time frames. Position is primarily sedentary but requires intermittent standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Ability to communicate verbally, telephonically, and in written form to accurately exchange/share information. Hearing to perceive the nature of sound with no less than 40 db loss @ Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction; ability to perceive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound. Performs repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health, or a related field preferred. High School Diploma or high school equivalent (GED) required. Must maintain a valid CPI certification Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card Minimum of one year of experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health setting. Must have a minimum of one year of direct Intake/Call Center or Crisis Intervention experience.
