Full Job Description Overview:
This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and a positive patient experience. The position also supports administrative, clerical, and financial functions within the clinic. While primarily assigned to one clinic location, the Patient Service Representative may float to other CAMG Health clinic locations as needed for coverage and may be required to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities Greet patients promptly and professionally upon arrival. Register patients accurately in the system and verify demographic, contact, and insurance information at every visit. Assist patients in completing registration paperwork, including patient history forms, consent forms, and payment contract forms. Obtain and document patient addresses, contact details, insurance information, and relevant medical history. Inform patients of expected wait times, delays, or schedule changes. Appointment Scheduling & Communication Schedule patient appointments and manage same-day or follow-up visits. Answer incoming calls, transfer calls as appropriate, and return voicemails in a timely manner. Make appointment reminder calls and follow up on cancelled or missed appointments. Answer patient questions and provide clear, accurate information regarding clinic services and processes. Insurance & Financial Responsibilities Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility prior to or at the time of service. Collaborate with insurance agents and payers to update coverage information and resolve issues. Collect and process payments (cash and credit card) for services rendered. Review patient accounts and identify delinquent balances for appropriate follow-up. Perform light bookkeeping and financial record-keeping as assigned. Administrative & Clerical Duties Maintain, file, and organize patient charts and medical records in compliance with confidentiality regulations. Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Manage incoming and outgoing mail. Assist physicians, clinic managers, and senior management with administrative tasks as directed. Patient Relations & Office Support Address patient inquiries, concerns, or complaints professionally and either resolve them or route them to the appropriate staff member. Follow up to ensure patient concerns or complaints have been resolved satisfactorily. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting area. Support clinic operations by floating to other clinic locations as needed. Requirements & Qualifications High school diploma or higher education required. Previous experience working as a Patient Service Representative or in patient registration preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, clinic workflows, and healthcare practices. Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor and appearance. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access). Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Protects patient confidentiality by making sure protected health information (PHI) is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.
