Position Summary:
Incumbent serves as first point of contact for patients in the ambulatory clinics. Performs general clerical and reception duties. Enters patient data to the registration system and verifies insurance and/or third party coverage. Schedules, confirms, and cancels patient appointments. Utilizes a team based approach to delivering patient care services. Salary Range:
Hourly Rate Minimum $22.12 Midpoint $24.79 Maximum $27.45
Required Qualifications:
Must be able to work weekends/holidays Ability to effectively read, write and speak English Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner Demonstrated experience using multi-line telephone system Ability to make simple calculations and perform simple math Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Bilingual in English and Spanish Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience working with TDS, Signature, IDX Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrated experience working in a hospital or medical office setting Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs Demonstrated experience working in registration, scheduling and/or authorization process
