Job Description

Connecticut Behavioral Health Hospital and Behavioral Health Unit is looking for Patient Care Associates (PCA), both part-time and per-diem, on every shift, who put the needs of their patients first to join our growing family. The Patient Care Associate (PCA) provides hands-on care and performs routine patient care under the supervision and guidance of nursing staff. Specific tasks vary with aides handling many aspects of a patient's essential daily functions to include, but not limited to the following: eating, dressing, bathing, serving meals, making beds, vital signs, and ADLs. The Patient Care Associate (PCA) will observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and reports any change to the nurse. Due to the direct patient care in a team environment, it is essential to develop positive caring relationships with patients, family members, and co-workers to support overall our quality of care and mission.
REQUIRED
: High school graduate or equivalent education required. Ability to read, writes, and interprets verbal and written communications using the English language. Ability to perform basic math.
PREFERRED
Experience in a behavioral health hospital or similiar environment.
