• Baptist Health is hiring a Patient Access Representative II to join our Emergency Department Patient Access team . This is a full-time opportunity, located at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
Shift Details:
Monday-Friday 730a-4p This role serves as an entry point into the Patient Access career path for candidates with relevant experience in customer service, healthcare, insurance, scheduling, registration, call center, or administrative support. In this fast-paced hospital environment, you will help ensure patients and families receive a professional, compassionate, and service-oriented first impression. The Patient Access Representative II supports timely and accurate patient registration, scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, financial clearance, and point-of-service collection activities. This position handles both straightforward and complex scenarios while developing proficiency in front-end revenue cycle workflows.
Patient Access Representative II Job Responsibilities:
Provide timely, accurate, and compassionate service to patients and families throughout the registration process. Complete patient registration, scheduling, and pre-registration activities accurately and efficiently. Verify insurance coverage and support financial clearance activities. Collect required point-of-service payments and assist patients with financial questions as appropriate. Maintain accurate patient information while protecting patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA requirements. Navigate front-end revenue cycle workflows and multiple systems while maintaining attention to detail. Apply knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and basic revenue cycle concepts to support accurate patient access activities.
Patient Access Representative II Experience:
1-2 years of customer service experience required 1-2 years of insurance experience required 1-2 years of healthcare experience required Prior experience in customer service, healthcare, hospital registration, scheduling, insurance verification, call center, financial services, administrative support, or another patient-facing service environment strongly preferred. Previous Patient Access experience is preferred but not required, as this role is intended to support individuals entering Patient Access with transferable experience and the ability to learn healthcare revenue cycle workflows. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and basic revenue cycle concepts preferred.
